Fundraising Page for Climate Ride California 2012

I will be participating in the Climate Ride, a 330 mile bike ride from Eureka, CA to my new home town of San Francisco, which will take five days to complete. I am joining forces with my fiance, Chris Porto, to complete the ride and fundraise for Integral Heart Foundation (IHF). IHF is an organization that is dedicated to bringing integral education and clean energy to a village in Guatemala. There are millions of people living in Guatemala that do not have access to electricity and are exposed to dangerous smoke from the candles they use at night. It is both toxic for the families and very difficult for the children to read at night by candle light. We want to support IHF in their mission and we created what we call, Project Aurora, our initiative committed to distributing solar lighting to the school and for the children’s homes.
Already we have a few potential contributions from non-profit organizations, including equipment donations from Chris’ company, SunPower Foundation, and One Million Lights. We will keep you updated on our progress, but now with the ride fast approaching, we really need your help to meet our fundraising goal of $4,800 by September 8th. Any contribution, small or large is going to go a long way to help provide this village in Guatemala with clean energy and a chance for a brighter future.
